Descripción

Se establece un paralelismo entre la metrica del Cantar de mio Cid y de Sir Gawain. La comparacion de algunos versos de ambos poemas le permite concluir que han sido "generated by similar verse designs (...): the poem's hemistichs contain two mandatory accents (strong positions) and the number of syllables in weak positions varies and may include other accented syllables. The are the defining metrical characteristics of poems such as Sir Gawain, and there are a number of possible explanations for the similarity of the Spanish and English metres" (p. 141)
